About Me

Daniela Rivero (they/them) is a cuir Mexican interdisciplinary artist, herbalist, educator, and espiritista. Working primarily in painting, printmaking, and altar building, they create expressive, biophilic scenes that explore themes of ancestral medicine, queer ecology, death and decolonial embodiment.

Dani is called to the work of restoring belonging with the land and nurturing ecologies of liberation. They are guided by their lineage —ancestors and descendants— as a participant in the death, transformation and creation involved in healing from colonialism and replanting future possibilities by shaping present conditions, beliefs, and ways of being.
